Kitchen Positions

Radish & Rye’s Culinary & Baking Specialists, balance their time between baking sourdough breads, preparing a variety of fresh offerings, and collaborating on recipe development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mix, shape, and bake fresh, high-quality sourdough breads

  • Prepare and package soups, salads, and other seasonal dishes

  • Collaborate on recipe development and innovate with local, seasonal ingredients

  • Ensure quality and consistency in both bread and prepared foods

  • Organize and maintain a clean, efficient kitchen space

  • Manage bulk seasonal produce processing, including fermentation (e.g., sauerkraut)

  • Maintain kitchen inventory of produce, dry goods, and paper products

  • Take initiative in improving kitchen operations and efficiency

What We Look For:

  • Required Experience:

    • Strong background in dough handling, particularly with high hydration sourdoughs

    • Proven experience in a food service or commercial kitchen environment

    • Food safety knowledge (ServSafe certification preferred)

    • Strong organizational and kitchen management skills

    • Mastery of kitchen math (fractions, decimals, unit conversions) and knife skills

    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • Bonus Points:

    • Passion for local, seasonal food

    • Experience with recipe development

    • Retail grocery experience, including stock rotation and merchandising

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours/day

  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs as needed
