We are currently seeking a part-time prep cook/baker

Working with high quality local ingredients, Radish & Rye's kitchen staff make magic!
(And bread and soups and lots of other things.)

Our part-time prep/baking position entails:

  • Dough handling, bread shaping, and baking (mostly sourdough, some yeasted)

  • Cutting & prepping veggies and more for soups and rotating weekly offerings

  • Portioning and labeling finished product

  • Cleaning — dishes, prep areas, and detailing

  • Assisting with bulk seasonal produce processing, sauerkraut making, etc.

  • 20-25 hours/week, Saturday through Wednesday. Flexible schedule, but must work Sunday mornings beginning at 5am.

What we’re looking for:

  • Food service/commercial kitchen experience

  • Food safety knowledge (ServSafe certification preferred)

  • Strong knife skills

  • Rock solid reliability

  • Able to work with a diverse group of co-workers in a fast-paced environment

  • Mastery of basic mental math skills: able to convert common fractions to decimals (and vice versa) and do simple unit conversions

  • Able to stand for 5+ hours/day, and lift 30-50 lbs

  • Able and willing to cook with, eat, and talk about products across R&R's offerings

Bonus points for:

  • Passionate about good food - especially local/seasonal food - with skills and knowledge to match, or eagerness and ability to learn

  • Retail grocery experience, including knowledge of stock rotation, merchandising, register, etc
